I find the best stamping ideas come to mind when I'm in bed. After I go through all the motions of the kind of card I'm going to make, I promptly fall asleep and when I wake up - everything has been forgotten!
For some reason, I had this thought of making a gatefold - easel combination card last night and it was probably because I was thinking of the measurements that I didn't forget about it when I woke up this morning and could hardly wait to try it out
Here's the result.
It's difficult to take a picture of the closed card because of the layers but this was the best shot I could get. And, why oh why did I end up with a black and vanilla card? I wanted to do a bright and colorful card but I always revert to my default black/white or black/vanilla and the Mocha Morning DSP is so elegant it made it easy.
Here's the inside of the card.
Don't you just love those Framelits? The frame around the flower image from Just Believe is perfect! I went to the old staple, Sincere Sentiments, for the sentiment.
Here's the easel.
The black satin ribbon scrunched across the inside of the card makes a good base for the easel stand.
Hope you like it - I had fun making it but got distracted along the way and didn't write down all the dimensions so I'll have to go back to the drawing board to work out the measurements as it needed to be tweaked along the way to accommodate the inside layers so that the card could close easily.
Thanks for stopping by - it's a rainy day so perfect for stamping - happy stamping!
